LOCATIONS & PERMITS

Spain continues to be one of the most popular filming destinations, having increased its filming incentive. Whether it is due to the nice weather or the wide variety of locations, Spain has played a vital role from the start of the international film industry. Obtaining permits is generally easy, with issue times varying depending on the region and type of location. With film commissions open in nearly all parts of Spain, there is a concerted effort to facilitate shooting in the territory.

NO VISA OR WORK PERMIT

For professionals of the audiovisual sector who come from visa-exempt countries for stays up to 90 days

For 90-180 days: Work visas may be issued to professionals in the audiovisual sector.

For over 180 days: A residence permit will be issued for foreigners residing in Spain and working in the audiovisual sector.

FINANCIAL INCENTIVES

Identical Pictures offers film financing through the Spain Incentives & Tax Rebates of up to 50%. Due to our strong relationships with financial institutions, we secure bridge finance for our Film Rebates. In addition, we can support international productions with additional GAP and Equity financing. Our Service Film Production provides the following formats: Feature films, drama series, all forms of television, TV Commercials, documentaries, stills & photoshoots, and small film fixer support.

Minimum spend in the territory is 1 million euros (with a total budget of at least 2M€ and a base of rebate not to exceed 80% of total production cost)

Rebate amount is 30%/50% (Canary Islands) on first million euros and 25%/45% (Canary Islands) thereon

Rebate limit is 10 million euros/18 million euros (Canary Islands) for each production

ELIGIBLE PRODUCTIONS
Eligible productions are feature length films or other audiovisual works including television films and series and documentaries

ELIGIBLE EXPENSES
Eligible expenses are broad and include technical crew/services as well as complementary vendors/services with a maximum of 100.000€ per person for creative personnel (who can be Spanish or EU domiciled to qualify)

As the rebate must be applied for by the local service company, we handle all processing for you.
